Dear Lance,

I doubt that you will remember me, but I was a Speech and Hearing student at the University of Montana when you were first diagnosed with your hearing loss. I was assigned to you as a student clinician and worked with you on speech and language. You were one of my first patients and I loved working with you. Your parents were amazing, very supportive. Through the years I have often wondered how things went for you. It seems you have been very successful. Please say hello to your Mom and Dad for me, they may remember me. I really enjoyed them and I hope they are doing well. I am not surprised to see that you have done well. You were such a cute kid. I will be very interested to read Longshot.

Anita's philosophy on gratitude---I wake up each morning and thank the Creator for letting me live through the night and for my strong dreams. Each night, I thank Him for allowing me to live through the day and pray for strong dreams for the upcoming night. I thank Him for my pain because maybe through the pain I have, some old person won't have to suffer from it. Mostly, though, I am happy for Life and all that living in my world is,was, and will be.

Hey! I am giving a presentation for my adapted P.E. coaching class on physical activity and sports for kids/ people with hearing impairments and I thought I would talk about you! I was going to present on how successful you've been and how you say that the only restraints we have in life are ones that we put on ourselves. What else should I tell people about you? I know I could go read your book but this project is due this Monday so I don't have much time. You're probly busy playing ball in Europe or somewhere cool so I'll understand if you're too busy to write back:)
Thanks! And happy almost Thanksgiving!
